Apparently…we Americans are the top consumers of cocaine and cannibis! Just imagine how many billions the government could make in excise tax if they legalized them…This article claims $5 billion just for marijuana in 1991 dollars, which would be roughly $8 billion in 2008 dollars (with no account for market growth). Add in some more revenue from cocaine and poof! $10-15 billion or even more for schools or healthcare or whatever you like.
